Title of works - Spider of the night / rango della notte
Inglese - My inspiration for this project were spiders! i find arachnids to be an interesting subject to manipulate into different deigns within jewellery. i began my journey through research of different types of spiders, taking into consideration their size, texture, patterns and colours. Then came the task of creating these creatures into weird and wonderful art pieces.
From this i decided to make a ring using the silhouette of the spider, where the legs would become the base to hold around the finger and the body as the centre piece.
Through a technique called 'lost wax casting' i created my own bronze spider ring which is now displayed in an interesting 'web' inspired box using the wire as my material
Italiano - La mia ispirazione per questo progetto era il ragno! Trovo che gli aracnidi sono un sogetto molto interessante da manipulare diverse forme di gioielli. Per iniziare, ho fatto una ricerca di diversi razzi dei ragni, notando la dimensione, la struttura, il modello ed i colori. Poi c'era il compito di creare delle opere d'arte strane e meravigliose usando queste creature.
Da questo ho deciso di fare un anello usando la sagoma del ragno, dove le gambe sarebbe la base per tenere intorno al dito e il corpo sarebbe il pezzo centrale.
Usando una tecnica chiamata 'lost wax casting" (fusione a cera persa) ho creato il mio anello bronzo di ragno che ora è presentato in una scatola interessante nel forme di un web, ispirata utilizzando il filo come materiale.
